alternator repairs due to cost-effective complete unit replacements—RBSA encouraged dealers to expand into full vehicle servicing. This strategic shift allowed us to remain relevant and sustainable in a changing market.

By 2010, automotive technology had advanced significantly, prompting us to expand once again—this time into diesel component repairs. We introduced our third major service line and invested in a small diesel test bench to begin testing and repairing diesel injectors. The success of this service led to further investment in more advanced equipment, including a larger test bench capable of testing up to six injectors simultaneously, as well as high-pressure diesel pumps.

In early 2016, Bosch Germany introduced the new CP4 diesel pump, which required specialized equipment for accurate diagnostics and repair. RBSA and Bosch Germany implemented a policy allowing only certified workshops with the appropriate equipment to purchase CP4 replacement parts. TPS Auto Electrical met these requirements and proudly established a fully equipped diesel pump room, staffed by well-trained technicians.

Strategic Growth

Our investment in the Hartridge Sabre diesel test bench provided significant benefits:

1. Enabled us to join ADCO, a second franchise that allows us to process warranty claims and partner with local vehicle dealerships in Witbank.

2. Granted us access to genuine Bosch CP4 pump components, essential for servicing the latest diesel systems.

3. Strengthened our position as a comprehensive automotive service provider under both the Bosch Car Service and ADCO Diesel Service franchises.

In 2025, we took another major step forward by investing in the development of young talent within the automotive industry. We introduced targeted training programs for apprentices and junior technicians, pairing them with advanced diagnostic and testing equipment. This initiative ensures that TPS Auto Electrical remains at the forefront of technological innovation—equipped not only with the right tools, but with the next generation of skilled professionals to support the vehicles of today and the future.

We are also proud to note that TPS Auto Electrical is home to three of only six Bosch Systems Technicians in South Africa. The Bosch Systems Technician certification is the highest qualification available in the automotive industry, and this rare achievement underscores our commitment to quality, technical expertise, and industry leadership.
